The Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Tsvetan Simeonov, held a meeting with representatives of the Management Board of the Biotechnology and Health Cluster—Attorney Valentin Savov, Dimitar Dimitrov, and Kristina Eskenazi.
The main focus of the meeting was on positioning and promoting Bulgaria as a global hub for health, biotechnology, and life sciences. During the discussion, they explored opportunities to support the implementation of some of the projects outlined in the Cluster’s activities, as well as partnerships for organizing events, regional visits to identify companies in the field, information exchange, and technology transfer.
They also discussed opportunities for cooperation and support for the Cluster’s project to create a public registry of dietary supplements and their regulation. Tsvetan Simeonov briefed his guests on the services provided by the Chamber and its regional structure, as well as on GS1 Bulgaria’s efforts to improve efficiency and traceability throughout the supply chain in various industries.
United by the goal of promoting the growth and development of the health and biotechnology sectors, both parties expressed a desire for partnership and cooperation. The Cluster’s leadership extended an invitation to the Chamber to participate in the first-of-its-kind Biotechnology Workshop, which will take place on May 21 and has the ambitious goal of bringing together relevant ministries, agencies, and organizations to resolve specific cases and develop best practices for the rapidly evolving biotechnology sector.
The Biotechnology and Healthcare Cluster Bulgaria brings together the efforts of innovative companies, scientists, and researchers in the fields of drug molecule discovery, genetic research, 3D printing of human cells and tissues, medical and diagnostic software, telemetry devices and modules, innovative materials, drug manufacturing facilities, and more.
